the dancers were so beautiful.

and sarah's note on rude beginnings...

Rude beginnings

We are familiar to each other.

[should be]

[could be]

will be beautiful to feel with you.

I mean that in a we somersaulted backwards into twenty seven high seas, drafted multitudes of sins and watched them break

under our compositions

kind of way.

General hex strategies aside, can we land on our feet? Don’t bother with politeness or policies here. We shook up a storm and now we are demanding miracles.

The pleasure is almost entirely ours, but who is measuring?

Backstage

--

a parlor fills

rumbles of conversation

laughter and celebration

actors performers embrace

audience as a new performance

ensues imbued with a vigor a script

plays out in the key of congratulations

everybody is happy in the way high waisted

denim hides bellies with fabric reality

hugs and kisses tummy roses and tulips

late-night snacks over beer while

folks recount their favorite scene

i enjoyed the part

the interlude at the end

where we fidgeted softly in seats

backstage wondering

what the spectacle means

--

They were tugging at the seams

Of reason.

Laughter thunders and creates audible laudable auditions,

Tickles the wordsmiths amongst them to carry over the one’s two’s and three’s

Defying division

Inverse multiplicities synchronized verses diving backwards into air winding waters into rhymes

I wore the wrong jeans tonight,

Had to unbutton to fidget comfortably into my seat.

The dancers were so beautiful.
